For a number of years Mr. Nakao has been wondering how he can encourage young people in Seibukan Dojo and also friends from overseas. He has now come up with a proposal which he hopes will be an incentive for young aikido enthusiasts.
BACKGROUND
Having practised aikido for 40 years, Mr. Nakao is now noticing that age is slowing him down. This is especially obvious to him when he sees the unbelievably fast movements of younger people in the dojo.
In the past, Mr. Noda has spent time training with Mr. Nakao in an 'uchideshi' programme. Mr Tanaka also made striking progress in aikido as he put his heart and soul into training at Seibukan Dojo. Presently at Seibukan, high school student, Max, is crazy about aikido, having moved to Japan from Germany in order to practise intensively. These exceptionally enthusiastic students in particular have greatly inspired Mr. Nakao.
For Mr. Nakao, aikido is his hobby and not his livelihood. It is, however, the most important thing in his life. It has never been his ambition to become professional. However, when teaching at dojo's other than Seibukan, it is often not possible for him to refuse gratuity payments. Despite having reluctantly accepted these payments, he has never actually spent any of the money, so now Mr. Nakao is wondering how he could make good use of it.
PROPOSAL
Mr. Nakao's proposal is an incentive programme for anyone overseas or in Japan who is under 30 and is enthusiastic about practising aikido intensively.
For the past 20 years, Mr. Nakao has been doing his best to:
1. practise aikido over 300 times a year.
2. practise 'zazen' meditation once a week.
3. take a total rest day once a week.
It has been very rewarding for him, so now how would like to invite you to have a similar experience training at Seibukan Dojo.
Please come to Seibukan and challenge yourself for one year!
For any young person (under 30) who successfully achieves this goal, Mr. Nakao is offering to pay the Seibukan training fees for the following full year. For those who succeed in training at least 200 times during the year, he will pay half of the Seibukan training fees for the following full year.
And don't worry... Mr. Nakao will not be standing over you with a sword!! This is just a small offer from his heart!
